I was lucky enough to see them at Western Carolina University when they blew through the college campus circuit 2001 or 2002. Here I am with them at the Ramsey Center!
I got to go with my friend, Becca (not pictured) and some of her friends. It was a great time and obviously very small venue compared to the crowds they play for now.
Almost a decade later, I finally decided to catch another concert. David, my mom, and I joined my friend Catherine, her husband Jason and two of their friends in Raleigh for their kick-off show.
Despite the fact that it was hotter than the surface of the sun out there, it was a really great time and they played a lot of their songs off the first album as well as all of their newer albums too. They even played a new "first" from their upcoming album. I think it was titled "Why wait?". It's been awhile since we've been to a concert and it was a great one to get started back on. No one sat in front of us, it didn't pour down rain, and no aggressive drunk people sat on our stuff! Even Kelly Pickler did a decent job (clearly I'm not a KP fan...).
Way to go Rascal Flatts! Musical talent, meaningful songs, and just the right amount of country twang. It helps that their songs were very poignant during different stages of our lives.
Hard to pick favorites but I think my top 3 Rascal Flatts songs would be Everday Love, What Hurts the Most, and Why. Ask me tomorrow and I'll probably change my mind.Happy X Year Anniversary, Rascal Flatts.
